"Mi FAMILIA" Poncho

I wanted to create an apparel piece that pays respect to my Mexican American culture.

My grandparents and their parents were from the Sinaloa and Coahuila states of Mexico.

To represent our culture and his words, I partnered up with Mexican artist Christopher Delgadillo Elias (aka Dual) @dualone_hem from Rosarito, Mexico. The Kangaroo pocket and hood Sol, Mar are mandalas which are inspired by dream catchers that represent the beginning of everything. From the first particle, the creation of the Sun, Wind, Fire, Plants, Water and then Man. The sunset represents the Day of the Dead, tequila and the hummingbirds are the messengers from beyond…The night represents Kumiai Indians of Baja California as they would worship the spirits living in the desert.
